Hey fellows I need help I would like to locate a torque converter off the late 40 (after 46 I think) combine. This was used as the varable speed and transmission as I was told. I am leaving tues to see the farm progrssshow then travel through to ind then friday to dennis polk auction . Is there anyone who has an old combine or a touque converter in the midwest who would sell it or at least let me look at thrirs ? What I want to do is use it in a converson of a ranger pickup to electric using an allis chalmers forklift motor. Yes I know I have too much time on my hands!!! Can any one help???

It is not a uni-harvester. I have seen only 5 or 6 and they are self propelled combines made after WW2 and used this torqueconverter as a transmission of sorts . A least as a varabile speed I do not know what model they are. It is belt driven as I recall and very much pumpkin shapped. Any help will be apreciated.
