I've seen a picture of a ZB with an overhead valve engine in it. And I've given it a little thought but never done it. Which model Z do you have? A ZT has an RE engine and the ZA and ZB have a 206 engine. If you have a ZA or ZB, you use the tractor's flywheel and clutch. It may have to be modified for a later style starter ring gear, for the ring gears used on the overhead valve tractors are a different part number. (unless you can use the tractor's original starter.) If you have an RE engine, you have to use a 206 flywheel (The RE flywheels fit a splined shaft. The 206 flywheel fits 2 dowels and mounts with 4 bolts and should fit right on the 220 crank. (The dowels in the crank may be too long, don't know.) The other issue that quickly presents itself is the water pump inlet on a 220 is on the opposite side from the Z radiator. If you have a ZA or ZB, you can't just move the radiator outlet: The cast lower tank is only "Dipped out" on the left side. I've also looked at the 220 water pump. I first thought just make a new mount plate and rotate the pump, but that won't work because the flange of the pump has a cast recess that allows water to flow back into the tube that leads into the front block. This area only lines up in the stock position.
