About all (all I have ever seen) had pto. its in a non-standard position, upper left side of the transmission case.

My '48 was equipped with the plunger type hydraulic system that used crankcase oil to turn the rockshaft using single-acting cylinders. I don't know if this was used in any remote applications or not. This plunger pump mounted in the crankcase cover toward the rear, and worked off lobes on the camshaft.

They could also be retrofitted with a side cover on the engine like was used on the ZA-ZB tractors and a more conventional type hydraulic pump was driven from the timing gears, with a reservoir under the gas tank, directly behind the engine and tubing to the rear of the tractor for remote hydraulic applications.

I have a '49 RTU that was like this, although the only remaining parts are the side cover and parts of the tubing assembly on the rear of the tractor.
