I just inherited a 59 445 after my brother died. It sat in his barn for twenty years in Michigan. A friend hauled it out to Oregon. It needs lots of work. The mixture screw fell out of the carb in transit. Does anyone know where I might find one? Also, the water pump is leaking. Are the parts out there to rebuild? Don't want to spend $140 for a rebuilt one. Any info on 445 would be appreciated.

For the mixture screw, (I'm assuming its the one under the carburetor.) go to your JD dealer and get a mixture screw assembly for a JD 40 or 420 gasoline. $45-50 4-5 years ago.
For the water pump, Welters 417-498-6496 and Everetts 740-922-3335 have bearings and seals. I think you can get them for under $50. If you also need an impeller, I was quoted $60.

Yes! The parts are out there. The mixture screw is easy to find. The water pump parts are so so. That is as long as the impeller and the pump housing are o.k.. Seals are easy to find as for it too.
