Hey, i have the cam gear off, what is the best way to turn the cam to advance it one tooth? Maybe i got the cart before the horse.Any help would be great.

Don't turn the cam, Turn the crankshaft backwards 1 tooth.

Read your post to late. Turned the cam , looking at the front of the engine the mark on the cam is forward of the mark on the crank one tooth ,cam gear rotating counter clockwise.Distributor indexed in the same spot before i turned the cam.The 0 mark one tooth ahead also.will this work the same ?
