Just got back from an auction near Balwin, Wi which is near Minneapolis. An extremely nice 760 baler brought $1,700 in about 20 seconds. Very little use and perfect paint and decals.

I guess I shouldn't say anything but I bought a 1959 OHV V4 Uni-tractor with a 760 uni-baler, excellent runner (both baler and tractor) on a sale up in Salida, Colorado. Shedded most of its life and had baled grass hay up until 2002. Have extra pickup teeth, needles, plunger knives, slip clutches, chains, etc. Last owner put on hydraulic varible speed control on the tractor. Gets lots of attention and comments at local shows. The paint is in very good original conditon. After lookin at it I had to have this gem. I'll confess, I paid $2300 for it but I'm glad I have it. (By the way it's NOT FOR SALE)

MM HANK; Another way to look at it is that this unique equipment is for sale, but, no one could ever meet your minimum.

I guess I better make sure there is always room for mine in the barn from now on. Was there any other MM equipment sold there?

Was this a farm sale, consignment, collector, etc.? Crowd? Other types of machinery that sold? Give us some more.

It was a hobby farm type auction although the owner had farmed and bought it new. There were about 200 bidders and the auction started at 5:00 PM. The owner's (Francis Dees) phone number is 715-684-2373. The baler hadn't done much and was cleaned off and shedded and looked like new. There was a 10' MM digger that brought $200. This area unfortunately is beset with urban sprawl from the Twin Cities and it seems that any number of farm boys have high paying jobs and nothing to do and consequently there is seldom any deals on collectable machinery. I saw a McCormick corn binder bring over $3,700 ten years ago. An average IH Cub brought $5,000 - you get the idea. I must say that the MM baler was worth the $1,700 however and some collector from far away may have bought it for all I know. It was one of a kind. Hope this helps.
