Can someone please tell me what the little oil line going from the base of the engine up to the hydraulic reservoir on a minneapolis moline bf is for? It broke and I am wondering if it is required. Any one have any ideas on the best way to fix it? Thanks!!!!!

That tube is a vent for the hydraulic reservoir. On the larger MM's it usually just has compression fittings on the ends. Copper tube works for a replacement.
The reason MM vented their reservoirs this way is that very little dust will pass all the way through the crankcase breather, through the crankcase and this tube into the hdraulic reservior.
