can you use the same diesel block and convert it to a gas motor or do you have to get a gas bloock and put it in dumb question but i am not sure

The major problem with using a diesel crankcase is there is no place to mount the governor on a diesel crankcase. The governor for diesels is part of the injection pump.

Other differences are the flywheel, ring gear, starter and possibly the shaft that drives the injection pump or distributor. Depending on the model you are refering to, some of them don't have the gear to drive the distributor. The driven cam gear is also different but could work. Of course the pistons and rods are different as well.
