Without completey stripping a 445. About how light can you get one. And any easy horsepower gains you can do to the engine.

Not sure about 445, but 335 are pulling in 3250# classes. The rear ends are lighter I believe. I have a Jet Star and took 1000# out of it already just with three point, tire fluid, and putting a tin old style seat on it. U302 Blocks are bigger and LP manifolds look good. There are some mighty 335 out there. Good potential I say. I'll be working on one of these motors soon.

One idea is to get rid of the cast iron cross in the front of the rad. and replace it with a grill out of a jetstar or big mo 400.
