I noticed several tops on the oil bath air cleaners. The first is the round dome that just pops on top. The second is the mason jar type. Third, I have seen the dry type clear plastic pre cleaner like later models. What is correct on a GBD? I've seen all three. There is a round cap on Dad's M5. I think an M5 is supposed to have the clear plastic one.

Ethan,
The round metal top is original. The mason jars were commonly used out west to trap dirt before entering the air cleaner. These were an aftermarket item to the best of my knowledge.

I agree. I got one of those clear round air pre-cleaners off a '50 U. I put it on my '54 UTS. Probably originally just a rain cap.
