I have what I think is a 1953 MM Z Don't know serial no. not readable. Can see Z decal under faded overspray. When I move throttle lever forward engine does not accelerate til over half way point. Any hints on how to adjust? I have the I&T manual but can not find out where I adjust. Am I not seeing the right info.?

You need to check the end play in the governor fly weight shaft. also the wear on the pins in the weights.

If you don't want to fix it yourself, let Matt at Motec do it. 765-963-6628 He has a very good reputation.

This is common. The typical fix is to shorten the linkage. I don't like doing that but I've gone the other route also, trying to repair/replace the worn parts inside the governor housing. Sometimes I've done more damage in there that than the good I achieved.
