I did some sanding on the 1950 RTU I just acquired and discovered what appears to be the original lettering. It looks like the background is white and the letters are red. The new decals I have seen for sale are all red background with yellow letters. Can someone confirm what the original lettering scheme colors would have been? Are there new decals with the white background and red letters or is what I am seeing on the tractor now not correct?

From what I know, the 1949 R's and ZA's had red Minneapolis-Moline on a clear background. The 1950 moldels had yellow letters on a red background. All the older or original decals I have seen on hoods have been faded and can appear to be a white background. Hope this helps

I am (was) thinking 1949 tractors U's and ZA's had the white decal with red letters. R-M distribuitors in Vail, Iowa will have the white decals if anyone does.
