I'm going nuts trying to mount a gen on my R. Had it on there good, then realized it was in way of hood sides! Now have orig pulley on alt, but having heck of time finding place to put the adjuster link to. The adjuster bolt is on outside of alt, was on inside of gen. What you fellas do? Share any pix or ideas? Not much movement to tighten belt either with fatter alt. OR, where can I find a rebuilder for my orig gen? I found a cut-out for over $100, gulp! Is there a cheaper alternative to that?

Hey GL - I can't help you with the generator mount...

But a lower cost alternative to that $100 cutout is to replace it with a voltage regulator. Will cost only $35 - $40, and it will do a better job of keeping your battery properly charged.

A regulator for most any 6 volt Delco-equipped tractor (MM, IHC, JD, Allis, etc) will work. Last time I was at my local TISCO they had 'em in stock. Only a minor wiring change is required.
