Took the old 1930 KT out of the barn and into the shop to clean the plugs and cap and rotor. It was running pretty good but kinda choppy like a bad plug. put it back together and no fire took the coil wire from mag to groung and crasnked no FIRE could the coil lost its charge ccan I pull start to charge Dont know what to do NOW The mag is a WICO 521B its also a four cylinder

lets face it if it was running and you worked on it and now its not, cease working on it and get profesionl help! retrace your steps could be the points or something grounding out.

My 2 cents worth....
If you lubricated the cam, some of the grease could have spoiled the points, so clean the points. Also, make sure your coil wire and plug wires are real wire, not the modern carbon wires.

I am not a mag expert, but I am putting one on my model U. I have looked at several old mags and the spring impulse thingy seems to hang up whn they sit for a while. The mag can spin freely by hand instead of having resistance. I bet someone knows what's up. If you get tired of that Twin City, I'm always looking for a good KTA! Let me know.

Make sure you can hear the impulse snap, clean the points and try again. Cleaning the points most often remedies my mag situations.
