I traded for a jet star 3 that has been taken apart. I have no pto assembly or torque. My question is will a pto and torque out of a Jet star 2 work? If so I have a jet star 2 with a good pto and torque. Thanks Chris

Chris,
I'm fairly sure that the complete torque and complete PTO assy from a JetStar2 will fit in a JetStar3. There are some differences.

If I am not mistaken, the JetStar2 torque still has the older style torque with the rollers and springs while the JetStar3 should have the newer style sprag clutch setup.

The PTO on the JetStar3 should have the PTO brake and assembly to stop the PTO from turning when off which the JetStar2 doesn't have. The PTO clutch drum from the JetStar2 won't have the machined groove for the brake band & is shaped a little different at the rear where the groove would be (more rounded).

Another problem you may encounter is the hydraulic pump drive off the rear of the main PTO shaft. There were several different setups used to couple the pump to the shaft.

If you are missing the PTO output shaft as well, the one for the JetStar2 should work but it will be short like early JetStar3's without the external bearing support.

Hope this helps

John
