Looking for info on the 20-35. Just purchased serial #3869. What year is it? Where can I find a list of the serial numbers by year for this tractor? Looking for manuals, oil cups for rocker arms, and good advice on operation & maintenance, parts, decals etc. Tractor is located in Missouri. Thanks

THEIR IS NO EXACTED RECORD OF YEAR TO SERIAL NUMBER,FAR AS FINDING A MANUAL YOUR BEST BET IS EBAY YOU MITE HAVE TO KEEP A EYE ON IT FOR A WHILE TO FIND ONE. LIKE I TOLD YOU AT THE AUCTION SATURDAY IT PROBABLE A LATE 1924 OR A 1925 FAR AS PARTS I HAVE A FEW CONECTIONS LET ME KNOW. P.S MY # 3399 STARTING # IS 3201 ENDING #4097 SO YOUR # IS 228 FROM THE END.IF YOU NEED TO KNOW ANY THING ELSE GIVE ME A CALL.

Here is the "points spread" on your serial numbers.
3201 - 4097 tc20-35 from years 1919 to 1923
250000- 250730 tc 20-35 from years 1928 to 1929 and I have more of them.
Just judging from the years spread I would guess to say an average of 200 or so per year. Hope this get you guys a little closer.

Congrats on the new old tractor! We have #3527 and are not sure of the year, I don't know of a serial # list that goes back to the MSM CO. days, if you find one please share. I don't have any extra books for the 20-35 / 27-44, but they are an interesting read. Book say if a rod starts to knock, shut tractor off, remove side covers from motor, shake rods to find the loose one. Remove rod cap through side cover, remove shims, tighten rod cap snug, and if you can't turn the motor with crank, you took out to many shims. Just like you do on the new JD's right? As far as the oiler cups we ordered some through McMasterCarr. They are a little different than original, taller I think, just don't mix and match and no one will know.
