Question on 1967 Vista

What kind & weight oil do you run in the transmission of a 67 Vista. Operators manuel just gives part # for different size containers. Put a new shock in my seat (the Vista) ha! When I get my info togeather I'll let you know how I did it.

my dealer says to use 80/90 weight oil in the transmission. by the way, I am looking for a seat pan or complete seat for a vista, know where i can find one? thanks ray

When I bought a 68 vista new it had a green fluid type of lubricant in it. Not grease or 80/90 gear lube. To check the level there was a drip plug behind or below the batteries. You would remove cap and the fluid would drip out when full. Tiny hole. Doubt if 90 would even flow from it. Ours had a transmission pump and a pressure guage for it on the dash. Our later models had a light. We replaced the origional oil with a similar type and tractor has never had the cover off and is still is in use today.

Do not run light oil I have worked on molines for many years and the ones that have been pulled hard with light oil insted of 80/90 have all had transmision problems ! Gears were flaking away !
