I have a tractor that I bought with Menthol as antifreeze and the radiator needs to be topped off. Can I use regular antifreeze or should I replace the whole mixture? I think menthol will not make candy if it gets into the combustion chamber.

Jerry, My dad used to use menthol in a farmall-the head had a small crack. Using this stuff prevented the damage that regular antifreeze would cause. He had to "top it off" alot. We've replaced the head now and use regular antifreeze. You may have a crack or leak somewhere.

I would flush it out, put in new quality antifreeze of your choice, and then at least every 2 years change it or add a really good rust preventative to it each year over 2 but change at 4 for sure. Just my 2 cents.
