Hi folks. My father and I have been arguing over 335 vs. Jet Star for pulling. I can put the 335 differential on my Jet Star. I know the 335 has narrower sheet metal so if both had a narrow front end, are the radiator and castings up front different? (Let's say 335 narrow front vs. 4-Star) Some places it would help to have a 335 because they were built in 1956. I like the brown Jet Star because it was different. The motors are all interchangeable. Anyones thoughts???

Well i have restored both a 335, and a 445, which is a lot like a jetstar. I have utility models of both. The sheet metal is the same, the hood overlaps the side panels more on the 335, due to a smaller radiator, and the front cross is not as wide. the front casting is different on mine, the 335 uses a radiator like a car, but the 445 the bottom of it is the front casting. but with the engine main casting being the same you could use what you wanted. Sounds like putting a 206 engine in a 335 is what you were planning to do! would be lighter than using the runnnning gear to a 445, or Jetstar!

Yes, that was my thought....actually running a bored 220 (U302) was my thought. I got a 335 industrial rear end with short axles, no PTO, and no Ampli-tourque. That ought to be light. I may use a 335 front too, but I do love the brown tractor. We'll see what happens.

Some of the last 335s actually had brown undercarriage with yellow hood & fenders.

Yeah! I was shocked to see a 335 Special at a show in South Haven, Michigan last year. Yellow and brown...all original!!! It was pretty nice.

I never heard of 335 special. Was there actualy such a tractor? also what was the difference between a 4 star and 4 star super? We had a UB special I believe it was a 57 model but I am not sure. WE bought it in Hazel Run, MN. Sold it to a guy from Willmar MN. Can't remember his name though.
