Ok, i located a MM tractor in the woods close to our cottage. I am usually a ALLIS man but i don't have any problems with a MM. When i first saw it i thought it was a ZTS due to the fact it was a standard tread version. I looked at the SN# and it read Z 00702370. Now i looked and if i'm correct this would be a ZAS? This tractor had hydralics, and what i belive is M and W livepower. It is missing the starter, distributor, and fenders, the rest is pretty strait. Can anyone tell me something about these things. Are they rare and am i going to have trouble finding parts for this beast. Are there any cronic problems? Also it appears the gas tank is dented pretty bad, the hood and grill look great!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance

Yes, according to the serial number it is a ZAS. Most engine parts are available. (may cost a little more than Allis parts, though.) Transmissions are nearly bulletproof, in my estimation. (Of course saying that, that one would be the one out of 100 that has tranny troubles.)
MM had their own live power. had a hand lever into the clutchpack on the left final drive/brake housing.

THE BIG QUESTION: Are the brake pedals on the right side? Almost all the ZAU's and ZAS's had the brake pedals on the left, except I'm thinking the '53 models with MM 'live pto' had them on the right.

Hey Mr. Allis man, I have been searching for a junker MM ZAS to buy and fix up, but I have only seen nicer ones. Not sure if you'd sell, but my e-mail is [email protected]. I'd love to see a picture!
