Can I wire (2) 6V batteries in parallel and still use the same charging system on my MM UTU? If I wire them in parallel, will it crank better? To wire them in parallel, I have to connect the positive terminals on both, and the negative terminals on both batteries right? Thanks for any help. Lucas

Lucas,

The answer to your questions are yes, yes and yes. But why do you feel you need more cranking capacity? Is your current battery up to snuff? Do you have clean, tight connections? Are you using at least a 1 gauge cable and better yet an ought or double ought, and not small automotive 12 volt battery cables. Running the ground to a mounting bolt or stud on the starter sometimes helps. And, is your starter in good shape, could it need a rebuild?

Jim
