Can anyone help me with my UBD Special. Which way does the head gasket go on the copper side up or the silver side up? Also does anyone have the tourqe specs for the head and rods. Thanks a lot

Copper goes against head. Torque 5/8 bolts to 175 and 9/16 to 130. Tighten in circular pattern and bring them down about 1/3 each time. I hope this helps. Spark ignition at 175 same way and this will solve blowing head gaskets.

Not sure on the head gasket. I thought both sides were copper. The torque specs on the head bolts for the diesel is 220 if my memory serves me correctly. 175 on gas. I will double check.

But before you do any of above put manifolds on and water manifold to insure heads are line up on same plane,in some cases you might have to start torqueing head then remove manifold to complete torquing the type of manifold and tools make alot of difference.
