Procuring Paint

Tractor Supply used to carry the MM Gold in an enamal. Be careful here too. Paint tint can vary between two cans. The paint was kind of "orangish-gold". I painted a ZAU with it as an experiment. I mixed some hardner in and thinned it with naptha. It sprayed on nice.

Overall it came out okay, but the shade is a bit different than my other two MM's that I painted with Dupont Centari paint. Use the Dupont Delux code and cross it over to the Centari paint.

You don't. That is the problem.. At least the tractors made in the mid 40's the color could vary. A story I read in one of the MM books mentioned that MM mixed their paint on a batch per batch basis. Therefore, tractors that came off the line on the same day could be two different shades.

I do know that later MM tractor had a different shade of prarie gold than earlier ones. In your case. I think that Prarie Gold #2 would be the proper color.

As for the "shade". Like I said.. That can vary from tractor to tractor. There is even great debate on what is the proper "Red" color. Use the color that you think is the best match for your machine.
