Does anybody know the Chicago Rawhide or National part # for rear axle seals on a 47 UTU? The MM part number is easy to find here in a book but it doesn't do Napa any good. Or does anybody have a list of all the other seals and the seals they interchange with? It would really speed up a restoration if everybody could write down the seal size and C/R number before it is installed and try to post it somewhere online. I tried to search all the archives but I could not find the part # listed in a Seal part # instead of MM #.

Thanks.

The NAPA ag seal catalog lists CR seal 35012 for all the UTU"s

Thanks everybody for the Info. I didn't think Napa would have interchange numbers from Agco.

Around here, (Vancouver, WA), we are not in farm country anymore. It doesn't seem like our napa's even care for our business anymore half the time. Digging out those old books is too much trouble for them.

So thanks again.

I replaced the rear axle seals in my 53 UBU. I used AGCO UT459A. One of the old seals was a National 455437.

Were the axles and seals on the 47 and earlier different from the later U"s? I know the wheels changed to the newer style in about 1948.

DFZ,
My parts book R-1056B shows rear axle seal as UT459A. This translates into CR# 35012 via 2003 CR Master Interchange manual. I don't have an older U parts book but can tell you that MM part # UT459 translates into CR# 35082 so be sure what MM part number you need. I'd do a sanity check on dimensions of these numbers before you order them as I've found a few discrepancies with the CR interchange manual.

I got my interchange and spec manuals from a local bearing supply house. They had no issues giving me a copy of each. I'm suprised NAPA doesn't have an interchange manual. I'd find another NAPA store myself.

I understand about those parts books. NAPA has (or has had) interchange books, but they are kinda funny about giving away their old catalogs.

Although they do still have some older stuff in their system and you can get it if they got it. . .
