What is with 670 and 302 in Louisiana?

Has anyone else noticed these two tractors in the photo section? They have been advertised forever. I believe he has a 950 or 1050 that he insists on including with these two tractors. I think he was asking something like $21000. The 670 and 302 look like nice tractors but he won't advertise them priced seperately. Why do people do this? Are they not really serious about selling what they have? If you want to sell something put a price on it.

His collection was shown in the MM Corresponder and quite impressive to say the least. They all looked 100% factory correct and show quality paint. I believe I he has e-mailed me before. Seemed to be a nice fella. I do not know what his machines are worth, but they are top notch. I believe he had a G1350 Supercharged 800 LP gas. That was a beast.

He did have them priced seperately a couple of times. I must admit, they are very good looking tractors, even though they did seem a bit high to me, they are his tractors and he can ask whatever he wants to. If you are not interested, then don't worry about it. If you are interested, contact the gentlemen and tell him that you only want 1 of them and to give you a price.
Now isn't that easy..... ...

You missed the point Carl. I don't dispute that they are his tractors and he can do as he pleases with them. I'll also agree that they are nice looking tractors. However, when people advertise things in this manner it gives on the impression that they are not really serious about selling them. Why not give a straight forward up front price? I don't care if the price is too high, (which incidently it is)be up front and let people know what you have and what you want. When you see the same tractors over and over again you can pretty much assume that people were put off by the ad or the price was too high or both. Sorry I offended you Carl. Drop the sarcasm next time okay.

I agree with you Steve. I remember when this site largely had tractors that were for sale. Too often (in my opinion)people put prices on tractors that are unreasonable or downright silly. Anymore I ignore those photo ads that I continually see over and over for months on end. It is true that everyone is entitled to put their price on their equipment, but at the same time unrealistic prices (dreamers as we like to call them) on tractors/equipment create what seems an endless cycle of resubmissions to this site, cluttering that link that individuals who have a tractor they want to sell use and wish to take advantage of the free service. Why not create a category in the photo ads for those repeat ads. It is apparent that many of them never sell, I would be curious to know what percentage of photo ads fall into this category of constantly being relisted?

I called the guy once and he was very nice. Call him if you are really interested. It sounds like you are not really serious about buying, but just fussing about much of nothing. It is also your opinion that the price is to high, don't buy them then. When I spoke to him he was serious about selling and the price is what he put into them. He can advertise them as much as he wants and how he wants. Call him he will be up front with you.

I agree the price is high. Just because you have X amount of dollars in something does not mean it is worth that much. And this does not apply just to tractors - you name it you can spend more on something then it is worth. I don`t think he wants to sell them there was a disscusion on the MM page about this and the seller got involved and was pissed about people talking about his tractors. As I remember he would not state what he had done to the tractors to make them worth that much. Like my grandfather used to say PAINTED UP JUNK

I remember in the mid 1970's when you could buy good 30 series Deeres (2 cylinder) for 1500 to 2000 bucks. Some people thought that was crazy, but the prices have never looked back. In my dealings, some people just want cheap tractors ( no matter how cruddy they are) Some recognize quality and the extra value of not having to deal with a basket case. Some have no money, but want to keep their negotiation skills intact. I would bet anyone, that if they listed a piece and priced it at the cheapest known price; they would get an e-mail as follows: can you send some pics? What is your bottom dollar? When you courteously reply to these people, they never answer. I have a proposal to make to all who read this. Lets all unanimously vote on what is the correct price range on each and every MM model. That way, the people with stuff for sale can correctly price it and waste nobody's time. I will start with UDLX..... .how about $1500.00????? ???
