How fast will a early ZTU go?

I have an early ZTU with the red grille, crown fenders, and cast iron steering wheel. I bought it stuck. We go on a lot of tractor drives. I am trying to decide if I should get this one running or not. Does anyone have any idea how fast a Z of this vintage should go without being modified?

I am from southern wisconsin. The reason I was wondering is that I sold a 1942 ZTU. It was set up with the crown fenders, cast steering wheel, old style carb, and had a mag on it too. It went about 30 miles northwest of dubuque iowa. It too was locked up. I may have the serail tag around here some where. From what I have heard it seems the cleaning out the warehouse tractors also only had 5 numbers to the serial tag.

If you are looking for one email me I HAVE A 41 ZTU I would let go real cheap. Maybe even less than that. It doesnt run but would make a good project.

I got it last fall at an auction NW of Des Moines Iowa. The owner was an Oliver collector but had 3 M-M's on the sale. I haven't got around to checking the serial number to figure out the year. I understand that Z's with the cast iron steering wheel were built during WW2 when there was a rubber shortage.

I'm thinking about 15 mph. My '38 goes fast enough that you don't step on the brakes real hard with the baler and load of hay behind it.
