I have several U's with the KEF engine and the intake has a smaller throat and bolt pattern then the later U's. None of these has a carb that fits nicely-adapters, smaller bolts -whatever. What # carb was supposed to be on them? Thanks

Book R1045B U tractors KEF engine 544001 and after show TTX-24 carb for gas and tractor fuel on engines 547733 and earlier with TSX67 for 547734 and later - expect there was also a manifold change - yep KE821C or KE5821C early manifold KE821G late

Are those engines in 'red face' Us? I know some of the '39 and maybe '40 models used a Marvel TTX carburetor, but I was thinking the engines in those were KEC engines. I do not know the exact model number, TTX is probably just the prefix.

All the later Us as far as I know (With 283 cu. inch engines, both KEF and 283-4A) used the Marvel/Schebler TSX67.

Are you sure your Us are using TSX67 carbs? What are the casting numbers on the manifolds?

The tractors are 41 thru 47 with KEF engines (high compression) and found in parts book that they take TSX 67 but the only way to bolt them up is with 1/4 inch bolts because holes don't line up. The one looks like manifold # is KE 822H but I don't see that in book. I have 2 UTI W/KEF 1 UTIL w/283 1 UTS w/KEF and 1 UTS w/283 Thanks for input. sssss
