Spuds, I've been pulling my '37 JTU/206 3 3/4"x5" in our local pull since '88. We only have a '39 & older #5500 class, used to be 1st gear and 10% over stock rpm. I'm very competitive, but never pulled anywhere else. The "old" guys tell me when/if I use the LP head, I'll loose lugging power on the low end (at the end where you need it). I can pull just as far in 2nd gear as I can in 1st, still 10% over RPM, using the RE226C head. Never put the 10A head on it, maybe I should try that. They also told me that you may have to bore more than 2 blocks to find ones thick enough to NOT blow out the cyl wall. I've seen a ZTU, #3500, 3 7/8" that ran quite well in the Mendota, IL area, I heard he went thru a couple of blocks. I had mine on a PTO dyno at a tractor show 5 years ago, and when it got to 47 HP, they shut off the dyno, said I wasn't stock, and it hadn't really started to pull down. I pull against a G JD with a power block and when there is no driver error, I can outpull him. 3 3/4" is VERY dependable, I've used this tractor to pull 3x14 and a 12' disc for 15 years, can go anywhere in 2nd and run all day, no problem. Don't know if I helped, but mine is DEPENDABLE.
