I am in need of information on how to build a crankshaft girdle for a 504. If anyone has any information or would know someone who has made one I would like to get some information. Thanks Chris

Building a girdle isn't rocket science BUT, there is only ONE(1) proven method of durabilty. A girdle can be built out of different metals and different thickness of these metals through various structure fabrication methods. Also remember that a OEM MM cast pan is a major part of the structural integrity of this engine design. We do not have tons of experience on this subject but have several hundred pounds of scrap because we spent way too much time and energy to try other types of girdle designs. Dale

I have made 4 cyl. ones, but don't have a 6cyl. block to go from. Can help you if you want. E-mail or call after dark would be easier to explane. Thanks, Glenn; 301-874-2146

glenn, thinking about putting 605 guts in a 504 crank case and wondering about the flywheel? use the 605 or 504 stuff.and do you have a big carb for the 605?

you'll have to use the 504 flywheel so it will work with the 504 starter, i don't think the ring gear/strater comb will work the other way. what manifold are you going to use?

That depends on what heads you are going to use. If you are going to use the 800 heads use that manifold. If your going to use 4230/33 heads use the 605 one if it's the square port type. If you want to get ride of the 605lp manifold. Let me know I sure could use it. Did you all ever get your tractors back from the show?

If it were mine I'd put a HD800 A in the 950 and go play. What kinda classes are you looking to run?

lets just say i'd have to run 18.4x38's so they would let me play with the green boy's. you know how they can get. when do you start pulling again, i havn't looked for any pull dates yet. what to throw some fresh paint on my ac but the A4T-1600 is in my shed waiting for the machine shop to get done with the motor work. bought a whole 585 motor to get the cam and pulleys for it. hope to get it done so i could start on my 950 but who knows when dad will get the parts back. did you get a 800 our do you want one? dad sold the first two we had and i think this one's for sale to. dist is bad on it from what the guy said. it just came off sawmill.

Yea , I got one. Came out of RI. Looking for a good cheap GVI some day to put it in. As far as the 950. If you have to run 18.4's I'd forget about the turque, unless your going to run 15/18,000 lbs
