I have a 1936 KTA. It's a nice solid tractor, but the only problem is that oil runs out of the drain hole under the brake housing after driving. I assume that I'll have to replace a couple of felt seals. Does anyone know were I would even begin to look for new seals???

Thank you,

Paul

I have a 1934 KTA and I replaced my felt seals.I went to a local packing and gasket company with a piece of the old one they cut me two pieces and I cut them out. It only costed me about $3.00.Its been about three years and they are still working out fine.

I have a 1938 KTA and what I did is put in two wet type oil seals in the place of the thick felt seal and it worked quite well. I used two because I couldn't get one thick enough and by useing two it took up the extra space.

Kevin,

Help me understand what you mean be a wet type oil seal, any size specs, and where you can buy them.

Thank you,

Paul

Well it is just a regular oil seal that has a double lip on them is really all they are. Single lips are o.k. too. All you need to do is measure the inside "shaft size and outside "housing" size and take the measurements to a parts store i.e. NAPA. They can look them up and get the seals you need. Also you will need the depth of the housing as well for the thickness as the seals are stacked up. I thought I wrote it down, but I can't find them right now. They where CR seals "CR= Chicago Rawhide" NAPA brand is CR numbers in a NAPA box.
