Oil Pressure - MM BF

My brother purchased a MM BF and just got it started. The engine sounds fine, but it has low oil pressure (between 5 and 10 pounds). He has adjusted the oil pressure screw on the side of the engine, but it makes no difference in the pressure. Any suggestions on what to do or check. He also installed a new oil pressure gauge.

The oil filter will change the oil preasure too.

It's been my experience that the Avery tractors with the Herc. engines had sufficient oil pressure to keep them operating, but for some reason, almost none shows up on the gauge. This was on a couple of Vs.

a large cap screw is located on the left side of the motor,this can be used to increase pressure,the motor carries 5-10 at idle and will jump up to 20+ pound when revved up,5-10 pound at a idle is no big worry
