Hi,

I have my BF torn down to just about nothing. I have a problem with the shift rod. Has anyone ever had their BF tranny open? I can not figure out how the shift rod is supposed to stay in the fork mechanism. There are three different forks and my shift rod with slip between the forks, I then have to try to get it back it the fork slot to change gears. I am pretty sure the rod should not come out of the shifter slots inside the tranny but can not figure out how it is supposed to stay.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Tim G

never had a BF open, but most I've seen had a spring of some kind to hold the ball part of the shift lever in a ball shaped socket.

Don't have a seat pan, but I can tell you that the crimp type edge on mom's BG seat is a dead ringer for the seat on our Farmall cub.
