I didnt see a forum for electrical so I'll try here. For now I want to run a delco 10si and 12 volts and later maybe go to the original 6 volt.
My question is, can I use my original ignition/light switch with the conversion? If I could keep the tractor at home, I'm sure I could figure it out. It's at a friends 40 miles west and I dont get to spend as much time as I would like to working on her.
Thank you for any and all replies.
Dan

Yes you should be able to use your original switch. You realize that the original 6 volt used a positive ground. I am assuming that your 12 volt alternator is negative ground. So you will have to switch the wires on your amp gauge, and switch the wires on your ignition coil that go to the switch and distributor. Also put a resistor in the wire from switch to coil, or use a 12 volt coil. I have a '51 GTB LP on 12 volt and '46 U on 12 volt. They have the original switches.

Thank you Jim. I had read every article about the conversion posted here at YT Mag. But, had either missed anything on the switch or it wasnt in any of the articles. There are several articles, some very similar, but all with useable info and I probably missed anything on the switch.
Thank you again,
Dan
