I just found a 1950 GTB setting in a shed in cental MO. it has good tin and good 16-34 tires, paint is bad , rims are ok radiator is also good owner says gas tank has alot of rust in it but tractor runs good. It has not been run in 2 years .Tractor turns over easy with crank. He is asking 2500 Is that what they are worth or is that to much. THANKS.

Hello Tim, I agree with the other posts on the value of the one you are looking at, you never know, I have bought non running tractors and later got them running, and have turned out to be great tractors, on the other hand though as mentioned on the other posts, you just don't know what else might need attention. I like the challenge of getting a non running one running again. Theres nothing like the excitement of starting it up for the first time. Wanted to mention, for about the same money as the asking price for the one you are looking at, I am going to have a nice GB on LP come in hopefully by the end of this month or Feb. sometime that I am probably going to put up for sale. It's a 56 GB on LP, good paint (not show paint) good tires but not new, working lights, and the desirable large western style fenders. I don't want to brag it up too much, because I have not seen it in person yet myself. Depending on what you are looking for, and what you are wanting to spend, you may want to keep this this one in mind also. Myself, I would prefer gasoline over LP, but I have heard lot's of good things about the MM's on LP. Either way, the MM's are great tractors.

Hey RJ, I may be interested but the hide button next to your email address was left on 'Yes' so I couldn't email you. Email me and let me know what part of the world this machine will be this spring.

Back in the early 1980's we were at a 2 day estate auction in south central Kansas with lots of old tractors. The sale didnt start until noon the next day so the following morning we went out driving around looking for tractors. In a small town at a grain elevator we found a dandy 1949 and 1950 GTB MM's.We asked if they were for sale and he said $500 for the pair. Both looked like low hour tractors that had been well cared for.

We had a problem. My friend wanted one and I wanted one so we flipped a coin.I won the toss and for $250 I got an excellent 1950 GTB with perfect sheet metal, decent paint, like new 16.9x34 Coop rear tires, good front tires, etc.Radiator and gas tank were great. It was free and I had it running 1 hour after I got it home.Motor was excellent and always started on the 1st turn.Won the 7000 lb class at our local fair tractor pull a few months later. All it needed to be shown was paint.Traded it off a few years later for a bunch of old tractor sales lit.Should have kept it.

Just my opinion but I'd say $2000 tops for the tractor you found.Good luck.

Hello Tim, I have been at sales where 2500. would buy a real nice G series tractor. If all it needs is paint then it's a fair price. If it needs tires then it's too high. If it was parked because of a problem then what? If my memeory serves me correctly, the last GB on propane I saw sold for 2000. in good running original rusty condition. The one before that was a GB on propane in real good running condition with bad tires and rusty paint for 2000. Before that was a GB gasoline in fully restored inside and out condition that sold for 3600. which was a lot less than what was invested in it. Another GB gasoline in nearly as great restored condition went for 3200. I suggest trying to get it running first and then make an informed decision.
