Anybody else see the MM weight on ebay that the guy wants $130 apiece for plus shipping. If someone would pay that price for them, I would sell a bunch. The last one's I bought I paid $80 for 5 of them total!

I have seen a range of prices from $25.00 to $175.00 a piece. The latter price paid when a bidder with deep pockets and a high testosterone level got into a p!@@!&* contest with two other bidders. I think the norm is $65.00 max. If you are lucky to get em lower, great. I watched a sad bidder walk away after losing a set at 85.00. I told him I had some for that price and he took em. (This was several years ago during our booming economy). Some people just gotta have that MM logo. The blank version is OK with me, and WHITE FIELD BOSS weights work great too.

I totally agree with everybody here on this pricing thing. Ebay has also made it very hard to get a good deal on anything any more. Don't get me wrong I have bought alot off of Ebay including two tractors. I hear at some of the auctions I go to "that if I don't get what I want for it I will just sell it on Ebay". I have also seen where people set a really high reserve on something to see just what the people are willing to pay. I am getting started in the parts for MM myself but I don't belive in this pricing thing because you know what they say "what comes around goes around"! Good suitcase "MM" weights brings here in central Illinois about .50 a pound.

I believe the fellow selling the weights posted on the web a couple weeks back asking what they are worth. I told him $35-40 seemed to be the going rate but others chimmed in saying they'd seen them sell for $125 a piece! Those fools only have themselves to blame for artificially inflating the price. I paid $300 for a full set of 8 this spring. It wasn't cheap but I thought it was a fair price. I'm not out to screw anybody but you have to have some common sense!

By the way, if anyone out there has them for sale for reasonable prices let me know. I may be interested if they're close to me.

The weights are only painted gold not made gold. One should gladly pay a person for what an item is worth. People that pay outrages amounts for MM items are only going to keep others who don't have deep pockets out of a good wholesome family activity. Let's send a very strong message to those who would attempt to gouge our community by not paying outrages amounts. One can see it on ebay and other sites, sellers eventually learn what we are willing to pay and what item
is worth. Lets keep this hobby sensible and reasonable. A person has a right to make a fair share but please don't gouge.
Sincerely with respect,
Jim Hlasny

Jim, I agree that it's hard to see prices go up but they are worth what someone is willing to pay. I've seen them sell for $100+ I can't pay that but someone did and made them worth that. it's the way of the free market.

MM front weights very seldom ever sell around here but if they did I'm sure they would be $25-40 each at the most.100 lb IH front weights usually sell for $35-50 each around here and mostly go to the pullers.Rear wheel weights usually are $4-5 each no matter what they fit.

What is so special about MM weights? I use weights off of older Case, IHC, and JD. Can get them new from a dealer a mile from me for $15.00 a weight (101 lbs) all day. They work just fine on my Ford, my Farmall, and my MM UTS. Also work great on my Dodge. Yo me a weight is a weight.

If I need weights for a pulling tractor I'm not too particular what brand they are.I once pulled an 856 IH and used Case,IH,AC,and MM weights to go up to 13,000 lbs from 10,000 lbs.

But if I'm restoring a 1206 Farmall I want IH weights on it.If I'm restoring a G-1000 Vista MM I want MM weights on it.I want it to be close to original.I have an Oliver 1950 with the front slab weights.I dont want IH suitcase front weights on it.

1206SWMO around here (SW Okla) all the suitcase weights are marked Taylor Foundry Wichita Falls Texas and the basic difference is the color. As far as restoring one of the old tractors, we pull our restored tractors and also use them in shows and parades. We try to as much weight off them as possible to make it easier to haul them. We don't have anything new enough to have had slab weights when new. Tim
