I bought a Jet Star 3 Super with a schwartz loader on an auction and have a problem with the hydraulics. There is no down pressure on the arms, I can lift the loader and gravity will bring it back down, but I cannot force the arms down. The bucket has good hydraulic pressure both ways. If I switch the hoses then the arms work fine but not the bucket. Any idea what might be causing this problem?

some loaders were only power up look at the lines to the lift cyl if there are 2 going to it refer to jk's post if only one you have a single acting cylinder

I'm not familiar with schwartz loader,but I have a couple of Farmhand loaders that don't have down pressure on the load arms but they do have two way on the bucket. I have a Du-al loader that will lift front wheels of my jetstar 2 ft. I am running external pumps off the pto rather than off internal,because if pump goes bad ,guess which one is easyist and cheapist to replace???MM replacement pumps are hard to find.

Tony,
There are 2 setscrews (about 1" long) with locknuts on the lever at the inside end of each remote lever shaft. These setscrews are to adjust so that the master spool is opened the correct amount when operating the remote levers. 1 of the 2 setscrews adjusts for UP & the other for DOWN. It could be that one of them has come loose and backed out some, causing the problem you describe.

The master spool is the spool in the center of the sort of square section the handles are attached to. You can check if this is the problem by pushing the master spool rearward while you are dropping the loader. It would actually be beter if you reverse the hoses so it won't go up instead. Then the loader will just sit there until you get some flow.

If your oil is low you can see the master spool & how far it operates. You may have to remove the seat to see very well.

The head of the setscrews is square and you can adjust it through the top cover but it isn't easy, especially if it is the bottom one. Make sure you get the locknut snug.
