I have a UB narrow front that is just sitting(no motor) and I was wanting to build it up into a real horse....any suggestions?....I would pull it once ot twice a year in exhibitor pulls here locally just for fun....mainly would be used for field work(plowing, disking, and the like) and we may put it on the feed grinder once in awhile. I have several old minnies including another UB with an M5 engine, an M670 wide front end, chevrolet power steering, and a homemade 3 point set up ising parts from a 44 massey harris....its a real deal...daily user here on our farm.....any way back to the other.....I would lik eto get 75 horse or better if possuble and still be able to use it for work!....thank you all in advance for any help!

about making it an everyday tractor with pulling capabilities I don't know, but I do know how to get at least 280hp out of it if you decide to ever just make it a puller.

Go find a 403 power unit. Most power units were LP or nat. gas, good shape, and good compression and power. That is what I am doing righjt now to my 47 U.

Put a 403 or a 336 in it and have fun.

I agree with E.J. If you're going to use it for real work, a good stock 403 is probably about all the clutch will handle, and still give good service for a reasonable time.

P.S. Expect to visit the fuel tank pretty often.
