That's a Stutgart, made by Oliver " Don Oliver" dealership in Stutgart Arkansas. They were the forerunner of the A4Ts. At the time, this was the biggest dealership in the MM organization. The 1st ones were 2 G rearends and a G motor and trans mounted on top. I think there were 26 or so built. There are many variations in the 26 made. Some had cabs, some were diesel, some LP and so on. MM used one of the last ones to design the A4Ts. One of the board members of the MMCI was an engineer on the A4T project, working for MM at the time, don't know much more than that.

As a follow up to John, Cummins engines were also an option, most were MM LP engines though. Also as I have researched MM 4WD's a bit, Don Oliver loaned MM am 8 year old model(one he had used on his own property) in 1969 to help develop what would become the A4T 1400. MM were quite willing to help Don Oliver with his 4WD project from late 1950's through the early 1960's. The first one used two U model rear ends, it was not regarded as a success, after this G/GB rear ends and engines were used. Any one with more information on these tractors please respond. Like Wayne I am keen to learn more!

My husband was given a A4T-1400 Minneapolis-Moline and we would like to know more about it. Illena

I had the chance to stop in and look some of the Oliver's collection over in March. I talked to one of the two sons and if I remember the first one was built with new parts and used M5 rearends and a Cat drop box. After the first one was built they went with used parts. Also had a chance to talk with an older mechanic that had worked @ the dealership and said that they would put two of about anything togather for you U, GTB, etc. Sounds like most had 605 LP powerunits for a motor. The old gent didn't remember how many might have been made. Mike
