I have been told that you could get a "u" or a"ub" tractor with a "g" motor in them only from the dealership not the factory. Any truth to this?

Hi JC. I belive that is the accepted fact although there was some pretty cool stuff that went on in the MM factory and some made it out to the field. From serial numbers, I have seen that a 340 motor (4.25x6 GTC LP gas motor) was used in UMIL tractors although I have factory pictures showing tall blocks in the UTI machines. I once heard a story about a G motor 5-star that showed up to a Ford dealer plowing demo, but that was a dealer swap. I am trying a 403 in my U. Just doesn't look quite the same height is all. Not legal everywhere, but M5 blocks and a G crank make a stock looking stock. That is the popular thing.
