I have 2 Minneapolis Molines for sale in the Photo Ads section.

Any comments about the tractors would be appreciated.

I have never bought and sold a tractor before let alone antique-type tractors.

I have additional photos of each tractor I can email people.

Thank you.

Christopher

PS: A big thank you to Roger and everyone else who answered my questions earlier!

I believe that the tractor you posted with the UT#'s all over it is not a Z, but a UTS.

Lucas,

Someone else told me it was a U based on the part numbers. The reason I thought it was a ZTU is based on the serial numbers.

ZTU's have serial numbers which match the range on the tractor nameplate whereas when I looked at the U's official serial numbers on this websites serial numbers page the numbers would not match.

Any ideas as too why?

It makes sense that if major components have the U on them the tractor is a U but the main nameplate serial numbers only match ZTU ranges.

I purchased both tractors through an auction and was advised to place them on the ineternt for sale.

I have never owned a tractor before these two and so I have no previous experience with identification issues.

But I sure am glad when people take the time to help me determine what the correct classification is.

Thank You!

Christopher

Christopher,
I think you're confusing the U engine serial # with the Z tractor serial #. They are similar. Almost all Moline tractors have seperate engine and tractor serial #s. The tractor serial # is located on a tag on the right side of the transmission housing. If you post your U engine serial # I can tell you what year the engine was made which should correspond to the year of the tractor unless someone has swapped engines.

BMG,

I have 2 Molines.

One has a nameplate on the engine housing with these numbers for the serial number: 560737

The nameplate has the Minneapolis Moline name on it and additional inofrmation such as model number.

The other Moline I have has a nameplate on the left side of the engine but I cannot read the numbers for the serial numbers do to rust.

Christopher,
Your engine is a model KEF and was produced in 1946. This engine was used in model UT tractors through 1947.
