335 Special !?

I was at a show in South Haven, MI a couple years back and saw a beautiful original condition 335 MM. It was yellow and brown as a 4 star was. That is what caught my attention. The decals were "335 Special". This was a factory original tractor and had not been used much over the years. The serial number confirmed it was one of the last 335 tractors built. Has anyone seen or have info. on this? I'm sure it is legitimate, but just has not been mentioned to me before. Thanks friends.

This is what I was told:

The 335 Specials were made for two years after the original propuction run was ended. I beleive they were made in 60 and 61 or 61 and 62. 50 units were built each of the two years and designated as Special. There was no mechanical changes made that I am aware of. I have seen two of these units.

I have one,sn 10402508, model 335P that I am restoring. Would like to find a picture as to how it is painted and where the decals go. The hood, fenders, and wheels are yellow with the engine, transmission and rear end are brown. You are correct that these tractors were built only two years 1960 and 1961, with only 50 built each year. This is a excellent tractor as I use a six foot finish mower with it and it works great.
