the live pto cluch is slipping on a U moline any help on how to fix the slipping thanks

I have a 53 UB with new seals, disks,and it still slips. I got a set of springs from a place called Danly. I measured the inside of the orginal ones and got the strongest and the bigest one that would fit inside the old springs. The springs inside should be a couple of thousands shorter than the old ones. works great, done a little pulling and bailing round bales and has not slipped yet.

The live power clutch on a U or UB had a tendancy to slip. Assuming there is the proper amount of free travel, either the seals have leaked oil on the disks or the springs aren"t strong enough.
The seals will need replaced if leaking. If you don"t find oil on the disks, you can put a washer behind each spring. If you are not using the live power clutch, you can drill 3 holes through the clutch and put 3/8" bolts through it. My one UB has been that way for 30 years. John

I believe I have a 445 doing the same thing. What is the PTO doing that you say is slipping?

The 445 has a totally different PTO cluth system than the U & UB. It is a clutch pack like the main clutch on the U. It can be adjusted by removing the hyd, seat, and top of the transmission. The I&T manual is all I used to do mine. It requires draining the hyd system. I went to an Agco dealer and got all of the o-rings and gaskets I needed. Now I am about to work on the third one. Besides slipping the other problem I have is the linkage breaking. That is the two roll pins that work the forks to ingage the PTO clutch. I hope this helps.
