2 MM's for sale - help

Help! I have 2 MM's for sale. I have no idea what they are worth or if it would be better to part them out.

I have never bought or sold a tractor before.

How do you best sell a older MM?

How do you price it correctly?

Neither one works right now but someone said the seat on one is worth $50. Someone else said they were worth $400 each. I do not know. I do not want to be ridiculous in what I ask but I do not wish to be taken either if that is possible.

MM#1
model: 4(1/4)54cy1
serial: 560737

I think this one is a ZTU from 1937 if that is possible.

Markings forged on two components are:
UT-1000 UT511F(found on tire rim)

This MM has a crystal clear name plate on it.

MM#2
This MM has a rusted nameplate which is about impossible to read other than the MM name and words model and serial number due to rust.

Part numbers forged on several components are: 10A373
10A1700
10A149A

Any help would be appreciated.

condition depends but ebay type auctions work fairly good just set a reserve like 400 geographic location will play into it to as well as the modle and features

I can't help you much on price but the serial # 560737 is for a 1946 KEF engine that would be original equipment in a model U tractor. I can also tell you that 10A149A is typically the cylinder block casting # on a later U model 283 engine. Looks like you've got 2 U model tractors. One with an early "mono block" KEF engine and one with a later "split block" 283 engine. The tractor serial # is located on the right side of the transmission housing above the belt pulley and below the hand clutch lever. If the tags are still there they will tell you exactly what you have.

I saw your response earlier and wanted to thank you for your help. I have no idea what the KFF means on the nameplate.

I looked up the serial number and it looks like one MM is a 1937 ZTU.

Any help you can offer would be appreciated in identifying them or pricing them

the engines in the later model U tractors is a model KEF, the 4 1/4 x 5 marking means the bore & stroke of the engine putting it at 283 cubic inches. Earlier engines were a model KEC.
