tractor land speed record

Somewhere I read recently that the land speed record for tractors was held be a MM "U". It seems like the speed was around 60 mph and was made at the salt flats in Utah.

Can someone help me verify this information and tell me where to find it.

Is there a link that I can go to that gives the records held at the salt flats.

Yes it was a modified AC U with high speed gears on pneumatic tires - it was partly to promote the intro of the "air" tires which were available as original equipment on AC U - believe AC U was first tractor from factory on "Air Tires" and AC WC (originally called "All Crop"?) was first designed around pneumatic tires circa 1933. Oldfield and at least 3 other drivers raced the U's at fairs circa 1934 - I've seen pictures - but supposedly Oldfield had a clause in contract with AC that he would always be the winner.

Barney Oldfield was the driver, I believe and yes it was an Allis Chalmers, but I was thinking it was the bigger "A". It had special gears

I'm pretty sure it was an Allis Chalmers U not a Moline U. It was an advertising stunt for AC to showcase pnumatic tires.
