Hi gentlemen, I am thinking about going to an auction and possibly buying a 302 gas tractor, it does have engine troubles, unknown as to what kind of engine troubles. But anyway, can any of you fill me in about one of these tractors, I have Farmalls, Allis-Chalmers, and have had Olivers, but the MM products are new to me. So put it this way, I am MM dumb, please fill me in.

I had a U302 gas that had over 6000 hours on it and never had any trouble at all. They are a good overall little chore tractor. They are no where near the power of a 670, and a tad larger than a Jet Star 3. About 55 horsepower. They used a special engine (the 220 cid) that was pretty bulletproof. Good overall tractor and i would not mind owning another one.

I sold a nice U302 recently for $4700 with new tires all around, power steering, 3 point, and pto. It was ready for new paint. I have another U302 with old tires, three point, and pto that I am going to sell. Asking $2900 for it.

302MM; A 1964 MM302 in fair cond. may pull 1820.
I WOULD LAY DOWN A PARTS LIST, DETERMINE IF ALL
NEEDED ITEMS CAN BE OBTAINED VIA THE INTERNET,
SALVAGE YARDS, ETC. SOME LABOR CHARGES FOR AN EXPERT, SELF EDUCATED REPAIR GUY OR OTHER RESOURCES SHOULD BE ENTERED INTO YOUR REPAIR
ESTIMATE. IF I UNDERSTAND THE TORE DOWN CONDITION OF THIS TRACTOR I MIGHT OFFER 1600 AND SEE IF THE SELLER WOULD BE WILLING TO GO THE DEAL.
IF YOU ENJOY THE REBUILD CHALLENGE YOUR OFFER MAY GO A BIT HIGHER. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR FIRST MINNIE.
