Did Moline manufacture an industrial model U302? What was unique to this model? Thanks for any informaion.

By the way if you go to tractor pictures on this web page and type U302 in to the search, there is a picture I took after I was almost finished cleaning it up. Take a look Don (and others).

I thought Dan was going to do some brush hoggong with it. Did he keep the nice yellow wheels and good tires? How is it running? What kind of deal did you get? DH has a diesel Super with that axle I think.

Hi Don. Yeah I think you have my old tractor. The thing that made this unique was it has all the hydraulics and three point along with the wheatland axle. I sorta kick myself for getting rid of it because I bought it for nothin. But traded it for a good GBD. It was purchased used by a teacher/horse farmer befor I was born in the mid-seventies. As long as I could remember, there was no sheetmetal on it. He had a radiator made after it kept overheating. It hauled manure and mowed hay I believe. The band director bought/traded hay for it, where it sat at his place and he made me a deal on it. I put all the metal back on it, repaired and painted the rims yellow, and cleaned it up some. I never did get a seat pad for it when Dan Moriarity traded me the GBD for it. The picture I saw had red wheels so I am not sure what is up with that. The brown motor was painted over yellow at one point, and the wheels were red before I got it. It ran very very good after I cleaned the carb. The T/A slipped when it was very cold out, but it could use a tranny oil change maybe. I will let you know if I remember anything else and I will send before and after photos. Talk to you soon.

Officially Moline never made a U302 industrial but anything is possible. Moline made power packages that other companies bought to power their equipment. It's possible the U302 may have been used for such a package but I don't know for certain. They did make a U302 Standard that had a standard cast arch front axle.

Hey BMG does your serial number list break down the U302 as far as standards and row crops? I have a late super diesel standard and wonderd if there was a way to tell how many were made.

My list doesn't break them out as far as front axle type, I think because they could be changed to whatever front axle you wanted to put on them.

This list also doesn't show any LP's before 1969 & I'm fairly sure they were made before that & assume they just weren't broken out from the gasoline models until then.

As you can see from the serial numbers there were not very many diesels made.

I dont see my serial number on your list it is 27700187 i think the diesel went up to 27700190 which would make this one almost the last one.

You're right. 27700190 was the last U302 diesel made. They made 26 in 1970 the last year of production.

I just bought one with the cast front axle. It must be the standard. I wonder if there are a low production number of these.
