I have been looking for engine parts for my 445, I have noticed many other models of Mineapolis Moline tractors having the same engine size as the 445. Such as Jet Star , Jet Star II, Jet Star III super, ZB, 4 Star, and ZT.
All the engines are 206 but they all have different letters at the end of the number like the 445 is 206 H; but there is 206 L-4,206B and 206 G-4 on the other models. Does anyone know if these engines are the same and if the parts are interchangable?
Finding parts for the 445 is very difficult. It may be a little easier if I knew I could look at all these different models.

Joe,

The engine in your 445 is basically the same as those in the 4 Star, Jet Star, Jet Star3 Jetstar 3, Big mo 400, 500 & 600 as well as the brown uni tractors. The piston/block/head/rods assemblies from the later (overhead valve) V type uni tractors will also fit but you may have to plug some holes etc. Not all parts will interchange directly between these engines such as the early ones must use a felt type rear seal while the later ones use a rubber lip type rea seal. The early ones have a spiral cut into the seal surface and if you install a lip type seal on them it will be destroyed very quickly. You can use a late crank in a 445 engine and then use the lip type seal.

The engines from the 335 and U302 also have some parts in common with the 206's in the 445's.

Later engines use a 3 bolt type starter which uses a different ring gear on the flywheel then the earlier one bolt starter.

If ask about specific parts, someone on here can help with possible sources.

Hope this helps.

John

What is the best timing for hp on 445?What is the biggest piston you can put in 445 with a sleeve? I was told by a dealer it will go 1|4in.by boring out cylinders. How close is a u302 40 over to that.I want to get most out of it as I can for hp.How far down can I shave the head? thanks
