Expertise on model and possible year of MM

I need assistance with anyone that could possibly tell me the model and year of my MM. It is a propane model and runs great. It has the dual front "V" style wheels. It is leaking water from the water pump, but works really well. The serial number off of the engine tag is;
06104399, and the model number is; 283B-4.

Joe,
The engine serial # you've listed is from 1953. The 283B-4 engine was commonly found in UB tractors. Follow deadeye's directions to see if you've got a tag on your trans still. This will be the actual tractor serial #. If your steering wheel is centered on the tractor and you've got a foot clutch then you probably have a 1953 UBU since you described it having a narrow front end.

There should be another ID tag on the right hand side if you were sitting on the tractor right above where the belt pulley would be or straight down from the fuel tank. I would guess that you have a "U" with a 283CI engine taken from the numbers that you have given.---deadeye
