Just purchased a m m model R T U at an auction sale The tractor isn't here but the bill of sale says the ser#is KEC543098C Is This A good number? If so what year would it be. Is this the tactor they put the fancy cab on some.Where can I get a back ground on it. It has the wide front original tires still good ,motor over hauled runs good with good paint. Is It worth $3000.00 I am not familiar with Mini Tractors Thanks to any one that can help...

Steve,
"KEC" is the engine model used in the early U series tractors up through sometime in 1940. This engine would not fit in an R series tractor. It sounds like from your description that you have a late 30's or 1940 UTS with a KEC engine. The UDLX (Comfortractor - the one with the styled cab) was made in 1938 only and it had a KED engine. There should be a serial # on the right side of the trans housing for the tractor. Your bill of sale only lists the engine serial # (Moline had seperate engine and tractor serial #s). The only similarities between and R series and early U series is the red grill. Hope this helps. Sounds like you're going to have to wait to see what you bought.

Brian

Brian, is there some place or web site I could look to get an exact year, and more info such as wight and a photo etc. I would like to see a photo of a late 30s because my grill appears to be different than the photo of the U T S on this site..... ....Thanks ..... ...STEVE
