I need to replace the rear main seal in my 5 Star. I do not have a repair manual for it yet, and I was wondering if someone could send me a picture out of thier manual so I could see what I have to do to change it? Do you have to take the crank shaft loose to change it? A parts picture would sure help me out too.

The rear seal can be replaced by droping the oil pan, then the seal retainer. It is a cork seal in 2 halves, the lower half is contained in the retainer the upper half is in a groove above the crank. It is recommended that you loosen the main bearing caps to allow for a little room to R&R the upper seal.I could fax a parts book picture if you need it.I can look up bolt torque specs for you and email them.Let me know if I can help.

D.Miller, thank you for the information. I have found a book to use. If I have more questions I will ask you for more help.

Thanks, Shaun
